Backlink Quality Checker and Outreach Prospect Quality Scan

Our AI-powered flagship tool, which we pioneered. Paste any URL, domain or multiple URLs and find out whether a backlink from it is worth having. One score built from authority, real traffic, relevance and spam checks. It is the same judgement an experienced outreach specialist would make, compressed into a few seconds. We use sophisticated AI to determine contextual relevance and the legitimacy of the website.

What makes a quality backlink.

A quality backlink comes from a site that search engines already trust, that real people actually visit, and that has something to do with your topic. Those three things rarely appear in one metric. A domain can have an impressive authority score and no traffic at all, which usually means its links were bought rather than earned. Another can have modest authority but a loyal readership in exactly your niche, which makes its link far more valuable than the numbers suggest.

This is why judging prospects on a single number goes wrong so often. Link sellers know which metrics buyers check, and those metrics get inflated. An experienced outreach specialist looks past them: does the site rank for real keywords, does it link out to casinos and payday loans, is the content written for readers or for search engines, does it link out far more than anyone links to it? Each answer moves the verdict.

This tool automates that whole assessment. It pulls authority scores from two independent providers, checks real organic traffic, measures spam signals and link-farm patterns, and runs an AI review of the site’s actual content for relevance and quality red flags. The result is one score, fully broken down, so you can see exactly why a prospect passed or failed.

Here’s how the tool looks:

Backlink Quality Checker

How to use our link quality checker.

Paste the prospect URL(s) or domain(s)

Enter the site that would be linking to you. A bare domain works fine; a specific page URL works too if you are assessing a particular placement. Use the ‘Bulk check’ toggle to check up to 5 domains at once.

Add your niche (optional but recommended)

Type a short description of your topic, such as “personal finance” or “B2B SaaS”. This switches on relevance scoring, which is often the deciding factor between two otherwise similar prospects.

Run the check

The tool gathers authority, traffic and spam data in parallel, fetches the prospect’s homepage and runs the AI content review. Results usually arrive within a few seconds.

Read the verdict, our breakdown and AI insights

You get a 0 to 100 score with a plain-English label, from Excellent prospect at 80+ down to Avoid below 20, plus five bars showing how much each factor contributed to the total. Also check AI’s content review verdict. Our AI is trained to highlight and warn you if the website looks spammy, is a PBN or publishes questionable content.

Why we built our own link quality tool.

This checker is the closest thing to Solvid’s internal process we have ever made public. After building over 30,000 backlinks and spending thousands of hours manually checking the quality of each prospect, we decided to develop a better, more efficient way. As a result, we came up with this tool.

This tool mimics our 10-point quality control process: authority, traffic, relevance, content quality, outbound link patterns, spam signals and more. Prospect vetting is the part of link building where campaigns are won or lost, and it is the part most tools skip entirely.

We watched too many businesses build backlinks from sites with a shiny DR and nothing behind it. The metrics looked fine but the links did nothing. The pattern is always the same: one number checked, four ignored. Our team never assesses a prospect on one number, so we did not want to publish a tool that does.

The Backlink Quality Checker scores prospects the way our specialists do, with the weighting we actually use and the same red flags we look for. If you would rather have the vetting, outreach and placements handled end to end, that is exactly what our link building service exists for.

A note on limits: The score is a strong filter, not a final answer. Our own team still manually reviews every site before a placement, because some things (editorial standards, audience quality, negotiation terms) only a human can judge. Treat sub-40 scores as a firm no and everything else as a shortlist.

How it works.

The checker combines data from leading SEO data providers with an AI review layer. For every prospect it gathers authority scores from two independent indexes, estimated organic traffic and keyword counts, referring domain totals, outgoing linked domains and spam scores. It also fetches the prospect’s homepage server-side and passes the visible text to an AI model for a qualitative read.

The base score is deterministic and calculated from five weighted factors: authority 30%, traffic 25%, trust 20%, profile health 15% and relevance 10%. Traffic is log-scaled so a jump from 10 to 1,000 monthly visits matters more than a jump from 90,000 to 100,000. Trust inverts the spam score and penalises sites that link out far more than anyone links to them, a classic link-farm signal. The AI layer supplies the relevance score and quality flags; if it cannot run, the tool degrades gracefully to the metric-only score.

Two honest caveats. First, all input metrics are third-party estimates, and none of them is a Google ranking factor. Second, the same inputs always produce the same score, which is deliberate: a vetting tool that gives different answers on different days is worse than useless.

Please Note:

1. This tool is provided free of charge and as-is. The quality score is an opinion built from third-party data and our own weighting; it is not a guarantee of any SEO outcome.

2. Authority, traffic and spam metrics are proprietary estimates from third-party providers. None of them is published by Google or used by Google as a ranking factor.

3. The AI content review is automated and can misread a site. Always apply human judgement before spending money on a placement.

4. Fair-use rate limits apply, as each check queries multiple paid data sources. If you hit the limit, try again within the hour.

FAQ.

Common questions about scoring link prospects and how the quality checker reaches its verdicts.

Did you custom-build this backlink quality checker?

Yes, this backlink quality checker has been designed and developed by the Solvid team. After years of outreach, prospect quality scanning and thousands of built links, we’ve decided to incorporate our 10-point quality control into a single tool to save time and resources.

The tool uses an AI-powered algorithm and external APIs to make determinations.

What makes a backlink high quality?

A quality backlink comes from a site with genuine authority, real organic traffic and topical relevance to yours, placed editorially within content. Spammy neighbours, thin content and excessive outgoing links all drag quality down, whatever the headline metrics say.

What does the relevance factor measure?
When you provide your niche, an AI layer reads the prospect’s homepage content and scores how closely the site’s topic matches yours. If you skip the niche field, the relevance weight is redistributed across the other four factors.
What do the quality flags mean?
Flags such as thin content, heavy ads or risky link neighbourhoods come from the AI review of the prospect’s homepage. They are warnings worth a manual look, not verdicts. A flagged site can still be worth a link in some cases.
Does a high score guarantee ranking gains?
No single link guarantees anything, and no tool can promise rankings. The score tells you a link is worth acquiring relative to other options. Results then depend on your content, your site and the rest of your profile.
Can I get unlimited access?

To avoid abuse, we limit the number of daily uses for each IP. If you’d like to discuss extended access, please email us at hello@solvid.co.uk

Why backlink quality is important?

Backlink quality is important because search engines use links as a signal of a website’s authority, relevance, and trustworthiness. High-quality backlinks from reputable, relevant websites can strengthen search rankings, improve domain authority, and drive valuable referral traffic. In contrast, low-quality, spammy, or irrelevant links may provide little SEO value and, in some cases, can harm a site’s credibility. Focusing on backlink quality rather than quantity helps build a stronger, more sustainable SEO profile.

How is the quality score calculated?
Five weighted factors: authority, organic traffic, trust, profile health and relevance. Each factor is scored 0 to 100 and the weighted contributions add up to the final score, which we show in full.
Is the score the same every time?
Yes, by design. The base score is deterministic: the same metrics always produce the same result. Scores only shift when the underlying data changes, for example when a site gains traffic or its spam score moves.
What score should a link prospect reach?
We treat 60 and above as a good prospect and 80 and above as excellent. Between 40 and 59 is average and depends on price and relevance. Below 40, your outreach time is usually better spent elsewhere.
Can I score links I already have?
Yes. Paste the domain or page of any existing linking site to see how it scores. It is a quick way to review past link purchases or triage a profile before a deeper audit.
What does a checkmark mean next to some websites?

If you see a checkmark next to a website/URL you’ve analysed, that means that our team has manually reviewed the website and confirmed its score. Sometimes, we manually review prospects to ensure accuracy.
