Free SERP Checker

See exactly who ranks in the top 10 for any keyword, in any country, and how strong each result really is. Authority scores, content metrics and SERP features for every position, pulled from the live results page. Know the battlefield before you compete.

What SERP analysis reveals.

A search engine results page is a public scoreboard of what Google currently believes deserves to rank for a keyword. SERP analysis reads that scoreboard properly: not just who is in the top 10, but how much authority each result carries, what kind of pages they are, which SERP features surround them and how much room is genuinely left for a new entrant.

The same keyword can hide two very different realities. A top 10 full of weak domains with thin pages is an invitation. A top 10 where every result has strong authority behind it, plus an AI Overview and a featured snippet soaking up clicks above it, is a long campaign dressed up as an opportunity. Difficulty scores compress that judgement into one number; looking at the actual SERP shows you why the number is what it is, and sometimes shows the number is wrong.

This tool does the reading for you. It fetches the live top 10 for your keyword in your chosen market, attaches an authority score to every result, measures each title and meta description, flags every SERP feature present, and pulls out the People Also Ask questions as ready-made content ideas.

Here’s how the SERP checker looks:

SERP Checker

How to use the SERP checker.

Enter your keyword

Type the term you are thinking of targeting. One keyword per check, analysed in full.

Pick country and device

Choose the market you want to rank in, with the United Kingdom as the default, and toggle between desktop and mobile. Top 10s can differ sharply between both.

Scan the features strip

Badges show every SERP feature detected: AI Overview first and highlighted, then featured snippets, People Also Ask, local pack, video, images and shopping. Heavy features mean fewer clicks for classic organic results.

Study the top 10 table

Each result shows its position, title, URL, a colour-banded authority pill and its title and description lengths. The analysis strip above averages authority across the SERP, counts exact-match domains and gives the average title length.

Why we built this.

No keyword gets onto a Solvid campaign plan without someone looking at the actual SERP. It has been that way for 11+ years, across every retainer we have run. Difficulty scores and volumes shortlist the candidates, but the results page itself makes the final call: who holds the positions, what it took them to get there and whether the intent matches the page our client can build.

Doing that check properly used to mean flipping between a VPN, a browser and two data platforms just to answer one question about one keyword in one market. We wanted the whole assessment on one screen: live results, authority per row, features flagged, questions extracted.

This tool is that screen. It is the same first-look analysis our strategists run before we commit a client’s budget to a keyword, opened up for anyone to use.

A note on limits: A SERP snapshot shows the state of play, not the path to winning. Turning “here is who ranks and how strong they are” into a content and link plan that closes the gap is judgement work. That is the job our SEO team does daily.

How the checker works.

Each check makes two calls through leading SEO data providers. The first fetches the live Google results page for your keyword, market and device, returning the top 10 organic results plus every SERP feature present, including AI Overview detection and the People Also Ask block. The second enriches all ten domains in one batch with an authority score, which we normalise to a 0 to 100 scale so the colour bands match our other tools.

The analysis strip is computed from that data directly: average authority of the top 10, the count of exact-match domains and the average title length. Nothing in it is AI-generated or padded; it is arithmetic on what the results page actually contains. Checks are cached for around 12 hours per keyword, market and device.

Honesty notes: authority scores are estimates and each provider models them differently, so expect small differences against other tools. And because Google serves slightly different pages between data centres and hours of the day, a result at position 6 here may sit at 5 or 7 in your own browser. The shape of the SERP, which is what you are really assessing, stays stable.

Please Note:

1. This tool is provided free, as-is. Authority scores are third-party estimates and vary between data providers; no score is an exact measure of a domain’s strength.

2. Google serves slightly different results between locations, data centres and moments in time, so positions here may differ by a place or two from what any individual searcher sees.

3. SERP analysis informs targeting decisions; it is not a prediction or guarantee of rankings, traffic or business outcomes.

4. Checks are cached for around 12 hours per keyword, market and device, and your searches are not tied to you or used for anything beyond serving the result.

FAQ.

Quick answers about SERP checking, features and how to read the results.

What is a SERP checker?
A SERP checker fetches the live Google results page for a keyword in a chosen country and analyses it: who ranks, how authoritative each result is and which SERP features appear. It shows the competition you would face before you commit to targeting a term.
Does the tool detect AI Overviews?
Yes. If Google shows an AI Overview for your keyword, a badge flags it first in the features strip, and any top 10 domain cited inside the Overview gets an AI-cited chip. That matters because Overviews absorb clicks that used to go to position one.
What is the authority score shown?
It is a 0 to 100 domain strength rating from our data provider, normalised so the colour bands match our other tools. It reflects the domain’s backlink profile, and it is an estimate that will differ slightly from other tools’ authority metrics.
What are the People Also Ask questions for?
They are the questions Google shows searchers around your keyword, extracted free with every check. Answering them on your page is one of the most reliable ways to match intent and win extra SERP real estate.
What do I see for each result?
Each of the top 10 rows shows the position, page title, URL, a colour-banded domain authority pill, and the title and meta description lengths. An analysis strip above the table averages the authority scores so you can judge the whole SERP at a glance.
Can I check SERPs in other countries?
Yes. Choose any supported market and switch between desktop and mobile. The tool fetches the results page as seen in that country, which is essential because top 10s differ significantly between markets.
How is this different from googling the keyword?
Your own search is personalised by location and history, and it shows no metrics. The SERP checker fetches a clean results page for any market and attaches authority and content data to every result, turning a list of links into an assessment.
How current is the SERP data?
Each check fetches the live results page at the moment you run it. Repeat checks of the same keyword, market and device within about 12 hours return a cached copy, since top 10s rarely reshuffle within a day.
