Meta Title and Meta Description Generator

Get click-worthy meta titles and descriptions written by AI and checked against real pixel limits. Enter a URL or topic, pick your favourite, paste it in. Every variant is keyword-aware, sized for the SERP and shown in a Google-style preview before you commit.

What makes a good meta title and description.

Your meta title and description are the advert Google shows for your page. The title is the blue headline; the description is the grey text beneath it. Together they decide whether a searcher clicks your result or the one below it. A good title puts the target keyword near the front, makes a specific promise and stays within display limits. A good description expands that promise with a concrete benefit and a reason to act, written in plain, active language.

The limits are the part most people get wrong. Google truncates titles at roughly 580 pixels on desktop and descriptions at roughly 920 pixels, which works out at about 60 and 155 characters respectively, depending on which letters you use. Wide characters eat space quickly, so two titles with identical character counts can behave differently in the SERP. Write past the limit and Google chops your carefully crafted line mid-thought.

There is also a quality bar beyond the mechanics. Titles in all caps, clickbait phrasing and keyword-stuffed descriptions tend to get rewritten by Google or ignored by searchers. The reliable formula is boring to state and hard to execute: keyword early, clear benefit, honest promise, right length. That is exactly what this generator is tuned to produce.

Here’s how it looks in action:

Meta Title and Meta Description Generator

How to use the generator.

Enter your topic, brand name and language

Type the target keyword or a short topic for the page. Optionally add your brand name and language. Use the main input field to add any additional information like the tone, URL, description of the page, style, etc.

Generate the variants

One click produces five titles and five descriptions. Titles keep the keyword near the front and append your brand when the length allows; descriptions include a benefit and a soft call to action.

Check the pixel bars and preview

Each variant shows a character count and a pixel-width bar in green, amber or red against the 580 pixel title and 920 pixel description limits. Pair any title with any description in the SERP preview.

Copy and publish

Hit copy on your chosen pair and paste it into your CMS or SEO plugin. Not quite right? Regenerate for a fresh set and compare.

Why we built it.

Meta rewrites are part of every SEO retainer Solvid runs, and have been for 11+ years. When a new client site comes in, the audit almost always finds the same things: titles that get truncated, descriptions that are missing or duplicated, keywords buried at the end of the tag. Fixing them is one of the fastest, cheapest wins in SEO, because better snippets lift clicks even before rankings move.

Doing that work across hundreds of pages taught us the patterns: where the keyword goes, how to phrase a benefit in 155 characters, when to append the brand and when to drop it for space. We encoded those patterns into the prompts behind this tool so the first draft it produces is close to what our own team would write by hand.

We released it free because metadata is a job everyone has and nobody enjoys. If the tool saves you from squinting at a character counter and second-guessing pixel widths, it has done its job. If you want the whole on-page layer handled, that is what our SEO retainers are for.

A note on limits: The generator gives you strong, correctly sized options. It cannot know your brand voice or your customers as well as you do, so read every variant before publishing and edit freely. Good metadata is written for people first; the pixel check just keeps Google from cutting it short.

How the generator works.

The generator is powered by a large language model working from a prompt built out of Solvid’s own on-page playbook. It is instructed to keep the keyword near the front of titles, avoid clickbait and all caps, append your brand only when length allows, and write descriptions with an active-voice benefit and a soft call to action. The output is validated server-side before you see it, so malformed results are regenerated rather than displayed.

Every variant is measured against the SERP display limits: approximately 580 pixels for titles and 920 pixels for descriptions. The tool estimates the rendered width of each string, not just its character count, and colours the bar green, amber or red accordingly. When you supply a URL, the page is fetched server-side and its visible content is passed to the model as context, which noticeably improves relevance.

Nothing you enter is used to train the underlying model, and generations are cached briefly so identical requests do not burn processing twice. One honest caveat: Google rewrites a substantial share of descriptions regardless of what you publish. Well-written metadata still wins the rewrite lottery far more often than lazy metadata, which is the whole argument for doing it properly.

Please Note:

1. This tool is provided for free as-is. We make no guarantees about rankings, click-through rates or traffic resulting from any generated metadata.

2. Output is AI-generated. Review every title and description for accuracy and brand fit before publishing; you are responsible for what goes live on your site.

3. Google may rewrite titles and descriptions at its discretion, regardless of what is published in your HTML.

4. Nothing you enter is used to train the underlying model, and generations are not stored beyond a short cache window.

FAQ.

Quick answers on lengths, pixels, rankings and how the generator behaves.

What length should a meta title be?
Aim for under roughly 60 characters, which usually fits Google’s 580 pixel display width on desktop. Longer titles get cut off with an ellipsis. The generator caps titles at this length and shows a pixel bar for each variant.
Do meta descriptions affect Google rankings?
Not directly. Google has confirmed descriptions are not a ranking factor. They influence click-through rate instead, and a listing that earns more clicks earns more traffic at the same position. That is why writing them well still pays.
How many variants does it generate?
Five titles and five descriptions per run, each with a character count and a pixel-width bar. You can mix any title with any description, preview the pair in a Google-style snippet, and regenerate if nothing feels right.
Will Google always use my meta description?
No. Google rewrites descriptions for a large share of queries when it thinks a page excerpt matches better. A well-written description still wins often enough to matter, especially for your primary keyword, so it remains worth doing properly.
Why pixels instead of character counts?
Because Google truncates by pixel width, not letters. A title full of wide characters like W and M gets cut sooner than one full of narrow ones. Character counts are a rough guide; the pixel estimate tells you what actually fits.
Is the meta tag generator free?
Yes. No signup, no credits, no watermarks on the output. Because each generation uses AI processing, we apply a fair-use hourly limit, but it is generous enough for normal page-by-page work and regenerations.
Can it read my existing page?
Yes. Paste a URL and the tool fetches the page server-side, using its actual content as context for the variants. If the fetch fails, generation continues from your keyword and topic alone, with a note saying page context was unavailable.
Does the generator include my target keyword?
Yes. Titles place the keyword near the front where it carries most weight, and descriptions work it in naturally alongside a benefit and a soft call to action. Nothing is stuffed; variants that read like keyword lists get rejected. For a full on-page overhaul, see our SEO services.
